SH71 West needs to be upgraded to a Major Arterial Divided 6 (MAD-6) road configuration in order to achieve long term road safety in the area.  This should be, at minimum, from Southwest Parkway to the Pedernales River.

As part of this upgraded classification, signalled intersections should be reviewed to support traffic flow to LOS-C or above at all times.  These projects cannot wait until 2050 to be achieved and should be a priority for Travis County to assist TxDOT and CAMPO with implementing.
